bullet About JACK FM

Welcome to JACK FM

We'd love to tell you that we spent a million dollars researching the market and found that the loyal Central Valley listener was looking for this format. Instead, we used our research budget to go to Vegas. And that's where we decided that we were going to take over this station and play what we want... Cool?

Jack FM is not only a new kind of station; it's also a state of mind. (Too deep? Get over it) It's totally different than anything else on the radio. Most stations play the same 20 songs all day every day and the DJ chatter is as lame and boring as their lives are. Why are we forced to hear about their big crush on Mario Lopez or about their favorite dancer on Dancing with the Stars? Shut up and play some tunes man!

That's where Jack FM comes in. No DJ's. No requests. Less commercials. Just more music - with a playlist of over 1500 songs. Halleluiah!

We don't sound like the other guys. And we don't stink like them either. You'll get just about every style and genre of music on Jack, from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s. We have, however, left our Polka and Square Dancing records at home. At least for now….stay tuned.

September 22, 2005 Press Release ANNOUNCING THE BIRTH OF JACK 105.9 JACK FM - "PLAYING WHAT WE WANT" A New Generation of Radio Station for the Central Valley

Patty Hixson, Vice President and General Manager of Peak Broadcasting of Fresno is pleased to announce the birth of a bouncing new radio format, Jack FM! JACK was born on September 22, 2005 at 105.9 FM. Jack is a big boy, weighing in with an expansive play list of more than 1,200 songs. All signs indicate that JACK will be a very irreverent boy, since his first words were "PLAYING WHAT WE WANT." People who don't know JACK are in for a big surprise.

"We are very happy to bring the listeners what they have been asking for - more musical variety," said Hixson. "Jack will be so different, so new. Listeners will love it! Jack is not just a radio station; it is an attitude, a lifestyle. Good music never goes out of style."

The Jack radio format is sweeping the country. Jack transcends normal definitions of a radio format, and will include a variety of genres from different decades. There is no restricted play list. Listeners will experience a range of music from the likes of Aerosmith, Madonna, and the Eagles to Duran Duran and Prince. Programming that would traditionally sound like five different stations in one music set on Jack. In fact, Jack has the largest song library of any station in Fresno with over 1500 songs compared to a normal FM station that sometimes have play lists of less than 100 songs.

Newly appointed Jack FM Program Director, Jeff Davis said, "I'm really excited about Jack. It is a programmer's dream to play whatever we want. Jack is like no other station you've ever heard."

105.9 Jack FM is part of Peak Broadcasting's family of radio stations, which also includes KMJ580 News Talk Radio, Y101 (KWYE), KISS Country (KSKS), and MEGA Oldies (KMGV).
